GGT Daily Update – 4th June 2026

Published on 6 June 2026 at 18:02

It's been a busy day behind the scenes at Guinea Gourmet Treats, with a mixture of rescue support, customer care, and quality control updates.

❤️ Rescue Donation Scheme Update

Unfortunately, no votes were received this month for the Rescue Donation Scheme.

Normally, the rescue receiving the most votes would win £20 worth of forage and treats. Rather than allowing a rescue to miss out completely, I've decided to enter every rescue currently registered with the scheme into a prize draw instead.

A winner will be selected and announced shortly.

You can learn more about the scheme and vote for your favourite rescue here:

Every vote helps direct support to rescues doing incredible work for small animals.

🐹 Supporting Norfolk Piggies

Today I also shared support for Norfolk Piggies and their fundraising efforts.

Like many rescues, demand for their help continues to grow. They have successfully raised funds for additional sheds and are now working towards flooring, shelving, concrete bases, and air conditioning to make the new accommodation fully operational.

If you're able to support them, even a small donation can make a difference.

Rescues remain the backbone of the small animal community, and I'm always happy to help highlight the fantastic work they do.

🌿 Willow Batch 270426 Update

Following my recent quality control announcement, customer Tracy kindly got in touch to confirm that she had also found mould within one of her willow bags from batch 270426.

As a thank you for taking the time to contact me and help investigate the issue, I have added an additional £5 to her personal rewards balance.

Whilst issues like this are extremely rare, forage is a natural product and occasional problems can arise due to environmental conditions such as humidity, hidden moisture within stems, weather conditions during harvesting, or storage factors after packing.

Every batch is checked during harvesting, drying, sorting, packing, and dispatch, but nature doesn't always follow the rules.

If you have purchased willow from batch 270426 and discover any signs of mould, please contact me with photographs so I can investigate further.

Customer safety and animal welfare will always come first.

🌿 Rewards & Customer Support

A huge thank you to everyone who continues to contact me when they spot issues, provide feedback, or simply share photos of their animals enjoying their forage.

GGT wouldn't exist without the incredible community behind it, and every message helps me improve what I do.

As always, if you need help choosing products, have questions about forage, or need support with an order, don't hesitate to get in touch.

Thank you for your continued support.
