Suggested feeding guide
For healthy adults whose diet allows fruit treats. These are cautious introductory suggestions, not tested feeding rates for this product.
- Rabbit: start with one rice-grain-sized piece of dried apple, once a week.
- Guinea pig: start with one rice-grain-sized piece of dried apple, once a week.
Cut or break a small piece from a slice; a whole slice is not a standard serving. Check for and remove any seeds or core before offering. Count the portion within the total sweet treats given, rather than adding several fruit treats on the same day.
Dried fruit is concentrated compared with fresh fruit. It is an optional treat, not a replacement for fresh vegetables, hay or a balanced diet. Keep unlimited suitable hay and fresh water available; guinea pigs still need their usual dietary vitamin C provision.
Not recommended for chinchillas or degus. Amounts for other species are not established here. Ask your vet before offering to young, pregnant, unwell, overweight or diet-restricted animals. Introduce gradually and stop if digestive changes occur.
