Baby bunnies can go downhill FAST
I spent over a decade running a rabbit and guinea pig rescue, and now I specialise in creating forages — so I can’t say this enough: if your baby bun stops eating or pooping, even for a few hours, treat it as an emergency.
Gut stasis can turn critical quickly. Even if they’re still hopping around, by the time they look poorly, they’re already in trouble.
What to do:
Get to a vet straight away.
Offer Critical Care (or similar recovery feed) to keep the gut moving while you travel.
Keep them warm and offer hay and safe greens.
Diet is everything for rabbits — it’s why I focus so much on safe, natural forage. The right foods can prevent problems, support recovery, and save lives.
