🐰 “Can I Leave Wooden Toys in Once They’re Chewed Up?”

Published on 8 July 2025 at 09:25

Ever wondered if it’s still safe to leave wooden toys in your piggy’s or bunny’s cage after they’ve been pulled apart? 🤔

One lovely customer recently asked about the wood balls in their enrichment box — and it’s a question I get a lot!

💚 Here’s the deal:

Wooden toys are made to be chewed and shredded — that’s how they help keep teeth healthy and minds busy!

Once your pets have broken them apart, it’s usually safe to leave the bigger pieces in for continued nibbling and play.

But if you see any sharp splinters or tiny bits they could swallow by accident, it’s best to remove those just to be safe.

That’s it! Simple, natural, and exactly what enrichment should be: safe fun that supports their natural behaviours 🌿

Looking for safe, engaging enrichment?

My boxes are filled with treats and toys designed for real chewing, tugging, and exploring 🐹💚
